The first environment-friendly PP insulated cable in China is used for wind power

2022-12-26

The environment-friendly polypropylene insulated cable jointly developed by CGN High tech Nuclear Material Group Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Nanyang Cable, Jiangsu Dongfeng Cable and other units has been successfully connected to the grid in Guangdong Taishan Xiachuandao Wind Power Plant built by CGN Group, which is the first application of environment-friendly polypropylene insulated cable in China's new energy wind power field. Since 1980, XLPE insulated cables have been widely used in power distribution networks, industrial devices or other related fields requiring large capacity power consumption in China. However, this kind of cable has many problems, such as large energy consumption in production, complex processing technology, non recyclability, and impurities in peroxide crosslinking process. With the comprehensive promotion of the "double carbon" goal in China, energy conservation and emission reduction are imperative. High tech nuclear materials are designed green from the source, and clean production is promoted. Through technical transformation, energy and efficiency are improved. The environment-friendly polypropylene insulated cables developed and produced have many advantages, such as green and recyclable, safe and reliable electrical performance, low energy consumption, high economy, etc., and the production process does not require cross-linking and degassing, realizing zero emission of harmful gases.
